Slip of the Tongue. Nice anniversary version. With DVD, including 7 videos. Great.

So we have the same SLTT album, with B sides, live tracks and a DVD collection.

I would say go for it, because i got it for a nice price, less than 10€

Good to be Bad

Not a bad record the last one from Whitesnake. I actually expected nothing, nothing really good.
But this is a solid piece of hard rock :-)
From the opener best years, the riff-melodic can you hear the wind blow, the ballad all i want all i need, the more accoustics summer rain and til the end of time.

Mr. Coverdale shows he is not in the best years, but after 20 years from 1987, he still is able to produce good enough material.

8/10 great to have

Slip of the Tongue

Why 1987 was so much successful -sold over eight million copies in the US-, and this one not, is a mistery to me. Ok, 1987 was teamed with great John Sykes, but Slip of the tongue was brilliantly perfomed by Steve Vai (check video with 3 axe-guitar) and compositions were nearly as brilliants as 1987. I guess it could be similar the comparision from Pyromania/Hysteria... maybe
Slip of the tongue, Now you're gone, Judgement day, Sailing ships -in a quite stairway to heaven structure-,

Fool for your loving, the slow The deeper the love...
the record is solid itself, not a one song-hit an that's all.
Slip of the Tongue sold three million copies and hit #10 in US and UK album charts.

Starkers in Tokyo

Why I bought this record is a mystery to me ... but I guess this was because Whitesnake is a great group. The price did not helped, but I wanted to make sure the guitars & the voice how they sounded. And they did it pretty good. Sailing ships, the deeper the love, love ain't no stranger, is this love, here I go again sounded really good, even the faster ones as give me all your love tonight.
The new ones was 50/50, Too many tears and Don't fade away were great, but can't go on was a bit boring for me. Anyway the stars in my opinion are don't fade away from restless heart, which is superb and the Deep Purple rendition, soldier of fortune which is absolutely great too.
The record is enjoyable, not to rock, but to relax with great music and great performance too.

9/10 nice to have

1987

A black cat moans
when it's burning with the fever
A stray dog howls
when he's lonely in the night
A woman goes crazy
with the thoughts of retribution
But, a man starts weeping
when he's sick and tired of life

With these words begins Crying in the rain, one of the multiple million-dollar songs this record is filled with.
Bad boys, children of the night, straight for the heart, fast pure hard rock songs.
give me all your love, still of the night, here i go again, a softer one, all these songs got videos, for MTV.
is this love, the infamous song every girl fell in love with. Hey, watch the video ;-)

Two bonus songs: looking for love, you're gonna break my heart again

This record is quite intense, quite uniform, and it is a real record to rock on. I really could not enhance one song over the other, you can hear it everytime from beginning to end, and when finished, you will say ... already?

John Sykes and David Coverdale entered in history with this album, teaming with Gun's Appetite and Lepp's Hysteria, to top sales in 1987.

For the 1987 versions japanese version that i have -the black one- i would like to enhance Standing in the shadows, another hypnothical version, how i love them!
