Adrenalize

Though it is not the best record of Leppard, it brings me memories, since it is the tour I attend so long ago...17 years ago. It is a catchy record, the last with Clark's magic, not counting Bsides great record Retroactive...

I always had an expensive reason not to buy this record, but with a deluxe version i do not mind paying just a little more, since for the songs, it is well worth the money.

Favourites? White lightning, Have you ever (the song which convinced my girlfriend) , Stand up, Tear it down... there's not a bad song in the whole record.

And a double with B sides is highly appreciated though i think i own most/all of them

10/10 great record

Prisoners in Paradise

Just like prisoners in paradise
Still far from heaven´s door

We had it all
but still we
Wanted more
Now I realize that I can´t
Turn back
the future´s here
To stay
but hey
We´re just children of tomorrow
Hangin´ on to yesterday

Nice verses from title track, the best of the record. Not a strong record as the first ones...

7/10 nice to have

High stakes & dangerous men

The record from the comeback: Way-Mogg. After this record they saw it was really needed Mr. Michael Schenker. Then there was the big reunion.
:-)

This one is nothing really special. There is not the magic i used to feel, even with their last record where only lasted Mogg.

Nothing special

6/10 for ufo die-hard

Only the children cry

This japanese version I have is a short EP. 4 songs. Not bad ones: Only the children cry, A moment in life, Who's life is it anyway and Turn the tables.
To be honest there is time since I do not hear this one... but overall is not bad.
This was done during the time 'another record, another singer' and Mark Thompson-Smith is not a bad singer but not a great one. Just average, and in my opinion I prefer vocals from Troy's brothers :-)

8/10 nice to have, great collectable.

To the Power of Ten

To the Power of Ten is the worst Mantis record. And it is not a bad one. But somehow i feel Gary's voice does not suit in Mantis legacy... in my humble opinion. Gary does great in his record "In Love and War" or all the old MSG stuff (Cry for the Nations, Attack of the Mad Axeman, On a on, Never trust a stranger, rock will never die...), but to me he is not the ideal voice for Mantis.
Anyway there are great songs: Welcome to my Hollywood (the best song), Don't be afraid of the dark, Victory, Only the children cry...

But I can't stand songs as Ball of confusion or title track, they are simply horrible :-(

Despite of being the weakest release, there are great songs.

konfidential & x-treme close-up

2 compilations from kiss in 1 dvd.
First one, Konfidential, IS Alive III ... Do this record really interested somebody? Not me. I am not a very die hard fan, but I do consider seeing Kiss alive (in 96) was a dream come true. I have at least 10 kiss records. Alive II in both lp and cd. So I am not a bad fan :-) -Alive II and Strangers in the night are my favourites live records- ... but Alive III is not my cup of tea really. (Not to say it'd missed songs like a million to one, who wants to be lonely, from the elder, from unmasked songs...)
At least it is added 4 vintage clips.
6/10 for die hard fans

Second one is awesome. X-treme close-up
I had it already in vhs as well, so when it went to dvd it was obvious choice. It is very easy to understand. And the clips are fantastic. There are clips from all their story until '92. Simply awesome. Kiss story told by them to their fans. Little details and funny stories.
10/10 awesome (again :-) )

Definitive package would be Kissology. I own I and II. However i am not pleased they were in region I and not in region 0... somebody to please explain me so i can understand... not enough fans in europe/japan? and it could have been the greatest package on earth...

10/10 fantastic compilation. X-treme deserves it by its own. It is a 3h package.

Chocolate box

I love UFO. And I will buy them all. But record companies prevent me of doing such a thing. Why?
This record is just nice to have, nothing really special.
Maybe Jerusalem, Muddy's gold and Whip that groove are the best songs for my taste.
Then it comes to finf out that there is a bonus song in japanese version. Somebody, somewhere. And then your face shows you've been ... thunderstruck!

So I hate having bought the non japanese one! Why japanese have bonus tracks??

7/10 just nice to have

Diamonds

Diamonds, the best of Dio. not a bad one, really. I actually bought it because i could not dig into Dio's firs opus: Holy diver, except for 3 indispensable songs: holy diver, don't talk to strangers and rainbow in the dark, of course.
A nice track addition: hide in the rainbow.
But all of them, obviously were here, so i decided for not a bad price to get it.
I would have preferred a double record with a nice booklet...

9/10 great to have

Too hot to handle, UFO story

The video made me lose my fear to buying in the net/ebay. It was impossible to get it except by a extremely high price... never again!
However it would have deserved it, despite i got it at very low price. 15$ shipping included.
Renditions of most of strangers in the night tracks, with comments from Phil, Pete and Michael... Steve Harris and Rick Savage invited too.
Specially awesome love to love (cut), lights out, let it roll, and see a very young band in out in the street and shoot shot.

10/10 awesome for ufo fans

Metallica -aka the Black Album-

The record that made Metallica become masive. the first record i bought from them. The first concert in my life. 21st Nov. 92. time ago, and long forgotten, but still I remember the adrenaline shot it was...

This record was a bit comercial, against the wishes from the hard-core die-hard metal-in-the-ears-to-the-limit, but I consider it in my opinion a fine heavy metal record.
Though it is true i prefer for rawness and aggressiveness Ride the lightning and Master of puppets, it is undeniable that songs like enter sandman, sad but true, the unforgiven, wherever I may roam, nothing else matters (the ballad!, Metallica playing a ballad!! with orchestra even!!!... so what ???) are great songs...

... and that night were performed awesome!!

Shame they were the heroes which turned into villians, but, that's another story...

10/10 brilliant

Journey, The Ballade

This is only for die hard fans. A japanese ballad compilation.
I would not recommend this record for any other person who is not: collecting rare items or loves journey at his most.
This compilation can be done in-your-house

However, I can't deny it is nice, very nice and very precious collection item.

Open arms, faithfully, why cant this night go on forever, send her my love, who's crying now, pantienly, the eyes of a woman... all from Perry period, but without the Trial by fire last record.

And Journey will continue making heart feeling songs as long as Cain/Schon team is up and running :-)

Historia & In the round in your face

I own singles, records, vhs and dvd from Def Leppard. This compilation is great.
Historia is all their video collection until Hysteria. Not as great as Kiss x-treme, since explanation is written on the screen, but nothing else. It could have been awesome, and it is just great.
10/10 great to have
In the round in your face is the concert they did in the Hysteria tour. Pyromania + Hysteria. I saw them in the '93 Adrenalize tour. It was not bad at all, but I liked too much pyromania and they only did 4 songs, forgetting the awesome stagefright.
8/10 great to have

10/10 nice to have

Let's mention as well 'the Def Leppard story' a film which is the story from Def Leppard until Hysteria. Awesome, I think every metal fan should see it. It is a film. It is well worth, really. Thanks to internet I saw it.

10/10 awesome

These days

After buying Keep the faith I thought Bon Jovi was a safe value. Why was it going to change?
Well, certainly there is an before and after since Keep the faith. Slippery and New Jersey were high anthem rockers. Here we have a more mature Jovi version... And it will continue to all their discs (we like it or not..)
But this record is solid, and it is good enough, but it is nost Slippery II (as it was New Jersey): Hey god, something for the pain, lie to you, damned, this ain't a love song, bitter wine..

Two of my favourite all-time bon jovi songs are in this record: These days and the supperb My guitar lies bleeding in my arms. Man, this song has a strength i have seen in few songs, honestly...

I can't write a love song the way I feel today
And I can't sing no song of hope, I got nothing to say
I can't fight the feelings, that are burning in my veins
I send this song to wherever you are, As my guitar lies bleeding in my arms

Of course it may not please to all fans.

This was a gift from my future wife... thank you love :-)

Empires

This has been a record hard to find, now i own it :-D
Jimi Jamison has a very special 'aor' fantastic voice and quality of his songs ranks at top.
Cry tough and empires are between my favourites. the duet with Lisa Fraizer is outstanding. The rest is nice melodies.

empires may crumble, love will remain
constant and timeless, the endless refrain
empires may crumble, into the sea

I am always here is also the 'baywatch song'.

A plus is it has four bonus songs, 3 survivor covers and a last studio one. That is positive so potential buyers enjoy.

Ballbreaker

This record belongs to the world tour I went to see ACDC, so it is kind of special for me... And it is true, you have to see acdc live once in your life, at least :-)
From here I like a lot hail caesar and the furor. Cover you in oil -good video!- and hard as a rock are not bad either. And I think big gun should have made it here ... :-(
I have to listen carefully yo this one, since I use to listen always same songs, and because this one a real bargain, I picked it up.
All my ACDC records are the remastered versions.

Temple Bar

I wanted this one since long, but when I saw it it was too expensive ... :(
I did some research in ebay and finally here it is. Not quite imaginative for the artwork, but there are at lest 3 songs that make this record worth while.
How did i get by without you, cover version ain't no sunshine, which nails it to perfection and price of my tears.
In dreams was a single as well.

As with when you were mine, these 2 records make a nice pack for collectors :-)

When you were mine

Promo copy, autographed apparently by John Waite...
2.99$ belive it or not ... and record is near mint.

I love suicide life, and title song, which the ones i listen most.

I know
Out on the Internet tonight
Deals made
Between the strangers
In green lights
No names
No touch no feel humanity
You and your suicide life

But i have to pay some others listenings since this one is a good record.

Keep the faith

Mother mother tell your children
That their time has just begun
I have suffered for my anger
There are wars that cant be won

Father father please believe me
I am laying down my guns
I am broken like an arrow
Forgive me
Forgive your wayward son

My 2nd concert was the Bon Jovi Keep the faith tour. I couldn't convince my girlfriend to come (she had an exam) and she recognised later she did wrong... but I went, of course :-) ... around 30th march '93.

I loved Bon Jovi by that time and I still think Jon is a great composer and delivered great. Even they played dry contry, a fantastic epic which with the title are the best songs from the record. Nicest ballads in these arms and bed of roses are great as well... And I love if i was your mother. Jon is a great singer and the band rocks and ballads, and i guess most of the most of metal-heads will hate me because this support, but I do not care. I love good songs and Bon Jovi wrote and perfomed a bunch of the highest quality.

10/10 classic status

MSG Unplugged Live

Michael Schenker. Robin McAuley. 92. Unplugged.
Of course, everybody knows Michael, the splendid axeman from UFO, MSG, MSG II, Scorpions and MS lately.
This record is the first unplugged he did, and with Robin's voice, thay accomplised a fantastic achievement.
Natural thing, and the indispensables Lights out & Doctor doctor, impossibles to fail from any Michael's or UFO concert. Classics forever.
Anytime, we belive in love, nightmare, when i'm gone, what happens to me from the Perfect timing, Save yourself & MSG records. Not as classics as UFO ones, but still great songs.
Just a acoustic softer, mellow record to enjoy, perfectly executed. The concert was video shooted too. Great!
Gift from my girlfriend, kisses to u :-)

9/10 nice to have, long favourite
