People do not buy records... these are the records fans want.

Only 14€... new and sealed :-)

BUT, after reading the little booklet inside, i learn more things regarding 'the Diamond head curse'. How is it possible such a band could not achive the status the deserved?

20,000 records skiping first song Makin' music, poorly managed, misprinted booklet (even this one), critisized by press, a record company which do not understand music,..

All can be resumed in Dee Snider's words, when he met Sean (regarding "Am I evil") "You wrote that song? You need a manager"

I just heard the B sides from Canterbury, they are great. I love them!

1987 - 20th anniversary

A cd+dvd. Special edition which was a real bargain. including:
-1987
-live in the hadow of the blues 4 tracks
-the videos trilogy (4 videos)
-live in the sill of the night (4 videos)
-nice and extensive booklet

Great to get. I will not say anything about this record, but if you like music and you havent heard this record, mark my words, make you a favour and you'll never forget the advise :-)

Prime Cuts

This is a 2dvd from all Alice Cooper career until hey stoopid record (1991). It is kind of documentary with videos, like Kiss x-treme, but here we only have alice.In this sense it is less enjoyable than x-treme. (Alice is less understandable than Kiss, though Kiss reaches perfection)
I would complain only that I would have preferred a bigger compilation video (i missed some), but it is just asking more and more.

2 things. Video from poison.
-Why alice is showing the censored version?!
-Who the hell is that beauty? Somebody please help!!

Second dvd is annoying having to play snakes & chains. For me the trick explained to jump it out does not work ... Maybe from the dvd reproducer.

It was hell high priced, now you can find it quite cheap.

Journey, The Ballade

This is only for die hard fans. A japanese ballad compilation.
I would not recommend this record for any other person who is not: collecting rare items or loves journey at his most.
This compilation can be done in-your-house

However, I can't deny it is nice, very nice and very precious collection item.

Open arms, faithfully, why cant this night go on forever, send her my love, who's crying now, pantienly, the eyes of a woman... all from Perry period, but without the Trial by fire last record.

And Journey will continue making heart feeling songs as long as Cain/Schon team is up and running :-)

Electric eye

This is a fantastic compilation from Judas Priest:
-all the videos until Painkiller,
-the priest ... live tour (1986, Turbo tour), and
-bbc performances from the early 80s.

The Priest live turbo tour it is priest at its best. The performance of the sentinel is incredible... Rob voice extremely acute plus the duel of Glen and KK solos ... :-D

There is no missing any essential song: electric eye, breaking the law, out in the cold, freewheel burning, screaming for vengeance, hell bent, living after midnight ... but the ripper

I only would miss also some comments from the members of the band. This would had help making the package awesome.

It has a mini booklet of 8 pages... There are dvd with less.

Remasters - Led Zeppelin

Some artworks will last forever. This one fits like a glove within misterious-mystical Zepp imagery.
Let's go for the music. I just can't remember when I bought this 2cd, but it is more than 15 years possibly.
Favourites I got then included Babe I'm gonna leave you, since I've been loving you, battle of evermore, stairway to heaven, kashmir, achiles and all my love.
My second coming will like dazed and confused, whole lotta love, rock and roll ...

Cons: again, no lyrics and nearly nothing, just 4 photos... And credits :-(

Red, White and Crue

I am not big fan of compilations though I have several. But this one has 2cd + dvd. It was expensive. however it was well worth. The new single 'if I die tomorrow' was amongst the best songs in year 2005 for me. Also, I did not have anything from them except 'Shout'.

The dvd with the videos and extra stuff (videos are commented by Nikky and Tommy - even with subtitles ... record companies, learn!!) is my favorite.
In this cases I do not mind expending the money, since the thing I got in return is awesome...

Moreover this is the tour I went to see 'carnival of sins', and Ii bought the 2DVD as well -this one was 14€ reasonable- ... again, where is piracy here? one of the best startings of a concert, setting the stage on fire :-D

Revelation

And here we have a new journey vocalist. Arnel Pineda. It may seem you are hearing Steve Perry, it is unbelievable.
It is a record that made me forget 'generations'. I do not have anything personal against JSS, but honestly, the ones who love classical journey period can see clearly that voice didn't suit ...
New classics: where did i lose your love, after all these years and maybe what i needed.
These are the 3 songs for what is worth buying the record. My version is the nicest package, not only has the bonus CD with classics re-recorded, but the Live DVD (region 1 :-( ) with Las Vegas Concert... so it is well worth, and a steal price :-D ...

Somebody to explain me why in US, 11,88$ (2cd+dvd) and in europe 18€ (2cd) only ... :-(

Although for me it will not reach Trial by fire or Arrival, it is a nice recover from Generations.

The best of both worlds (VH)

It is the same title for another compilation I have. Now this is VH turn. And in a similar case as Marillion, each world had a different singer. I am not a big fan of compilations because unless they are package-cared they normally suck, but founding this a real steal ... I said, ok!
What's in there?36 songs, 3 new ones which are forgettable, but most all of the classics in there... a few lines and covers to support it, well, not bad...
I would have included light up the sky, although I'll wait is a nice surprise ... and I miss of course mine all mine, and I would have included catherine ... wow ... i would have had better ideas for a memorable package (as time3, pandora's box, life and crimes, vagabonds-kings, warriors-angels ...) ... maybe next time...

Keeper of the 7 Keys (Part 1 & 2)

This is for collectors :-)
Everybody knows the Keepers, right?
This is a special japanese edition that holds both records. Hard to get, only at high prices, or buy it at Japan or have the best of the friends to bring it for you :-) . Many thanks again JL :-D
As you can see its cover it is combination of 2 covers, being the cover of part 2 the one that appears at the window behind the keeper...
Could any collector be happier :-))
I will not review this special one, because I understand there is no need, and this one will be one of the cornerstones of my collection.

These records inspired a whole generation that I could not understand in my first listenings, around 92 ... but time heals everything and my taste improved hopefully to enjoy of this master opus.

It is so nice ... :-D

grandes canciones

i can't remember exactly why i bought this record, ... i hadn't heard mujer amante yet but i knew it sounded like rainbow, and i had heard astronomo, being barilari's spanish version of stargazer, so i had to try out.
it is not a record i use to listen to but it is a great compilation, that is for sure.
a great double cd, lyrics in, and nice booklet.
and the music also, it sound like rainbow. it has excellent songs, amongst them: the famous mujer amante, noche sin sueño -nice instrumental-, el sueño de la gitana, por que es tan dificil amar, the story of la leyenda del hada y el mago, really really great, capricho arabe ...
also, as a bonus it has 4 videos in the second cd. well, this is really nice. a nice surprise.

i love buying cds, but without knowing that they will be soo good. highly recommended for all rainbow fans. though i prefer the music in english, rata blanca are able to sing really well

another best of the ballads from rod. the new ones were absolutely fantastic.
if we fall in love, for the first time, when i need you sometimes when we touch, awful love (+ bryan adams + sting) ;-)
have i told you lately, broken arrow, plus some other classics ...

all for intimate moments with a good company and time to spend on

very very very nice slow ballads ... enough said

by the way, the version i have is the 15-songs promo

the best of rod stewart

this was my first rod stewart record, and it was a best of, since the price i got for it was a steal.

favourites are maggie may (of course), you wear it well, da ya think i am sexy? -the first time i heard it i could not dig in-, downtown train, the first cut is the deepest, tonight's the night ...

i do not like rod stewart rock songs but exceptions, but i find unique his style and voice for these slow slow heart breathing ballads

so strange in my hard rock/aor/heavy metal discography, but i like it :-D.

the booklet is poor amd lyrics are missing ... :-(

very best of meat loaf

this is how to make a correct compilation.
they lyrics are in, nice photos and 2 new songs. a double record.
it is not nothing really special, but is more than we were used to.

so that is why i find it a correct best of.
the songs also make it, so are nearly all bat out of hell, bat out of hell II, dead ringer for love ...

another best of i am ashamed of.
never again buy this 'record company' greatest hits. no matter what price.
no lyrics, no special packaging/booklet, and of course missing the songs completely...

for me road to valhalla, fight to survive, el salvador from the first record are indispensable ... and are not here :-S
and also poor living version of lady of the valley is not acceptable either. their first acoustic accords are ... not ... in

so ... :-S ... thank god internet arrive to save us from the ashes ... :-)

6/10 how not to make a compilation.

heavy metal thunder

this is a really nice way to do a greatest hits. a slightly different re-recording, with actual sound. it sounds really great, more powerful and more aggressive. crusader, 747, princess of the night, dallas 1PM, ... all great songs enhanced with power and fury. i only miss the broken heroes power ballad which i personally find outstanding... but! there is a nice 2cd with some live tracks, in which broken heroes is included... shame that live sound -official bootleg?- is not as great as alive or strangers in the night. the booklet is a bit short, but better than more that i have seen.
balance is very positive, and maybe not apply to everybody but people who try to find something special in the records nowadays, since you spend some money you deserve to get a nice record...

1982-1992

this is a compilation from europe. i believe most metal fans will say this sucks because they had popular hits worldwide, and it is a 'hairy' band in def leppard, bon jovi style...
they simply haven't heard the music. as simple as that.
in the future to come and seven doors hotel are the two first openers, from they first record. not only they rock, but they are awesome. then we come to second record, and stormwind and scream of anger do the job brilliantly, as hard rockers. the ballads open your heart and dreamer are very good also.

then we arrive to the final countdown, rock the night, carrie ... which are great songs ... and the only problem is that they are worldwide known... no problem i would say :-)
ready or not, prisoners in paradise, ... i would say i miss the ballad from 4th record tomorrow, but the compilation is good enough. i would have added the king will return, and maybe words of wisdom, but the compilation is good enough

best of both worlds

this is the 2cd best of marillion. it covers the two-singers period, the first one from fish (first cover) and the second one from steve hogarth (second cover)
the two periods have great songs, and all are here, so the compilation is really great. the booklet includes a brief explanation for every song and the records are nicely decorated.

from first period, obviously, script for a jester's tear, one of the best epic songs i've ever heard... , he knows you know, kayleigh -did you know how many girls were named after this one, being the nickname of fish's girlfriend? that is makin' history!!-, lavender, heart of lothian ... all great songs
from the second period, maybe the best song they ever did: the great escape, no one can, the ballad -maybe we would miss here splintering heart-, hooks in you, made again ...

9/10 brilliant compilation

Time3

This one was my first 3cd box. And I had it ordered. And I found it not very expensive, and when i opened my eyes were shining :-D
All Journey's history in a 56 pages booklet and 3 great cds. I have to say that the first period (pre-Perry) was unknown to me. The fusion-rock style was not my cup of tea, but i found some songs really brilliant. A little story from each song was available, and these are the things fans love :-)
Of a lifetime was the tune that i found it shone above the rest. but the rest were not bad.
Talking about the second period (pre-cain). The band seemed to reach popularity, but not massive. There are interesting songs as patienly, little girl, wheel in the sky, too late and lights. Most of them are not great songs but good. The Captured record was a disappointment when i wanted to see how the band was live. I prefer the studio, but also the songs were not great great.
And then we come to the third period in which Jonathan Cain joins the band. A string of awesome songs made Journey shine as they never had to. Esc4p3, Frontiers and Raised on radio are the trilogy that made them unstoppable. Don't stop believin, who's cryin' now, open arms, still they ride, mother father, separate ways, send her my love, faithfully, after the fall, the eyes of a woman, why can't this night go on forever, happy to give, be good to yourself... These are not great, all are awesome!! :-)
Also added ask the lonely, only the young, only solutions, la raza del sol, a couple of instrumentals and a live rendition of i'll be alright without you.

Journey has been the combination of Perry, Cain & Schon songs. Quality trademark.

10/10 for journey fans. Awesome.
