Red, White and Crue

I am not big fan of compilations though I have several. But this one has 2cd + dvd. It was expensive. however it was well worth. The new single 'if I die tomorrow' was amongst the best songs in year 2005 for me. Also, I did not have anything from them except 'Shout'.

The dvd with the videos and extra stuff (videos are commented by Nikky and Tommy - even with subtitles ... record companies, learn!!) is my favorite.
In this cases I do not mind expending the money, since the thing I got in return is awesome...

Moreover this is the tour I went to see 'carnival of sins', and Ii bought the 2DVD as well -this one was 14€ reasonable- ... again, where is piracy here? one of the best startings of a concert, setting the stage on fire :-D

IV

If there is a song amongst any other, this one is stairway to heaven. And I wanted to own iv, zoso, 'no titled' or whatever you would like to call it. Led Zeppelin's fourth opus. But I wanted to hear it properly since it is kind of magnetism that I can't help but playing track 4 :-)
but at last I begin loving rock and roll, black dog and another track which has suprised me, going to california which seems more a quite enjoyable Plant's vocal exercice. battle of evermore was always a nice perfomance as well.
Everybody heard the infamous sentence you can play Stairway backwards and you'll hear satanic messages. Well, Swan Song Records issued the statement at the time saying:
"Our turntables only play in one direction—forwards".
Quite elegant to end controversy ... somebody to tell me as well how to play it reverse... :-D
so, despite my likes in the 70s music go more for UFO, Alice Cooper, KISS direction, ... i consider this one a master opus, and not only for Stairway... although this is Stairway's record.

What is the meaning of the song? It has many interpretations. The one I like the most is, the mind changing of a materialist person to a spiritual one, which is still in time to choose the correct path. Wonderful lyrics and melodies...

Revelation

And here we have a new journey vocalist. Arnel Pineda. It may seem you are hearing Steve Perry, it is unbelievable.
It is a record that made me forget 'generations'. I do not have anything personal against JSS, but honestly, the ones who love classical journey period can see clearly that voice didn't suit ...
New classics: where did i lose your love, after all these years and maybe what i needed.
These are the 3 songs for what is worth buying the record. My version is the nicest package, not only has the bonus CD with classics re-recorded, but the Live DVD (region 1 :-( ) with Las Vegas Concert... so it is well worth, and a steal price :-D ...

Somebody to explain me why in US, 11,88$ (2cd+dvd) and in europe 18€ (2cd) only ... :-(

Although for me it will not reach Trial by fire or Arrival, it is a nice recover from Generations.

9/10 great to have. Nice compilation.

Vox in excelso

Any saracen record is at least a very good one. Main guitar player composer Rob Bendelow and the strong Steve Bettney vocals are always awesome for me..
Can they top Heroes, sains and fools?... maybe one day.. Vox in excelso is a concept opus and although songs are independent they sing a story (of the templar knights). Some parts are spoken and that may lose some fans, but ... It is original, and in my opinion is nearly as good as Red sky.
Best song for me is title track and the rendition from meet me at midnight, but the whole record is a great one.

Empires

This has been a record hard to find, now i own it :-D
Jimi Jamison has a very special 'aor' fantastic voice and quality of his songs ranks at top.
Cry tough and empires are between my favourites. the duet with Lisa Fraizer is outstanding. The rest is nice melodies.

empires may crumble, love will remain
constant and timeless, the endless refrain
empires may crumble, into the sea

I am always here is also the 'baywatch song'.

A plus is it has four bonus songs, 3 survivor covers and a last studio one. That is positive so potential buyers enjoy.

Ballbreaker

This record belongs to the world tour I went to see ACDC, so it is kind of special for me... And it is true, you have to see acdc live once in your life, at least :-)
From here I like a lot hail caesar and the furor. Cover you in oil -good video!- and hard as a rock are not bad either. And I think big gun should have made it here ... :-(
I have to listen carefully yo this one, since I use to listen always same songs, and because this one a real bargain, I picked it up.
All my ACDC records are the remastered versions.

Highway to Hell

My favourite song from ACDC was inside this record, touch too much. I cant understand why is not included in the concerts... Well, ok, I admit it is a personal one, as this record is full of A1 material; Title track, girls got rhythm, walk all over you, shot down in flames, night prowler ...
Believed as the finest record from acdc, if permited by next opus, back in black ... anyway to awesome records.
ACDC were able to replace the irreplaceable..

It was time since I wanted to have it in my collection, as it should be in every collection which deserves a little recognition.

A bunch of anthems that made history.

Let there be rock

What a record! Finally mine. I've never been so 'ACDC' since the concert, and that is 12 years ago ...
Well, this is a 8-track masterpiece, in which maybe there is one track i do not love it so much, the rest are awesome, and the ones that go usually live: let there be rock, hell ain't a bad place to be and rosie.
Title track for me it has always been misterious for me:
'...but Tchaikovsky had the news ...' because I love him and I do not believe in 'just luck'... why the hell did they picked Tchaikovsky?? answer: roll over Beethoven from Chuck Berry.
Anyway, classic status, for me this record made ACDC enter into history in Capital Letters.
Only little black point ... why only 8 songs ... :-(

Black Ice

Black ice. I count 12 years since ballbreaker, which was the tour I went to. And I still have to get the record. Sooon ... done!!
I bought this limited edition because I believe it will be a nice collectable, no more songs, just more photos and hard covers.
Rnr train, the more i play it the more i like it.
Big jack and anything goes are the best songs to me
and I begin liking war machine and wheels. But what i feel more is that Acdc were right, the record is a one-piece of solid rnr. They never have been my favourite band, but I cant help loving them just a bit more :-)

They did not compromise selling more songs on iTunes, because they like to sell it as it is one solid piece of rnr/hard rock. And I can't help loving them more and more :-D.. Am I repeating? ;-)

Temple Bar

I wanted this one since long, but when I saw it it was too expensive ... :(
I did some research in ebay and finally here it is. Not quite imaginative for the artwork, but there are at lest 3 songs that make this record worth while.
How did i get by without you, cover version ain't no sunshine, which nails it to perfection and price of my tears.
In dreams was a single as well.

As with when you were mine, these 2 records make a nice pack for collectors :-)

Sixx AM: The heroin diaries

She speaks to me in Persian
Tells me that she loves me
The girl with golden eyes
And though I hardly know her
I let her in my veins
And trust her with my life

It is not just this songs that haunts me within this record. But these verses are so touching and so descriptive...

This record was the best by far from 2007 without a doubt. A masterpiece. Nikki Sixx shows all his genius, although with Dj Ashba and James Michael with exceptional partners in this just perfect opus.

And to mention this is my japanese version with the delicious acoustic version of Life is Beautiful and a DVD extra with its video and some interviews :-)

Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

Now it comes the best. you could think the record is good, great ...

Well, the books stands as high as the record. And it is full of stunning artwork. It is very readable and very enjoying. Now i understand the sentence 'party like a man, beast or mötley crüe' ...

As 'the dirt' Nikki is showing all his demons how not to keep a life.

Of course he was a first class asshole but you cant help admiring the immortal tunes he created ...

And if it serves people, only just one not to follow his path the book is well worth.

Absolutely recommended reading.

Saints of Los Angeles

After 'The heroin diaries' i thought ... Will they have enough power to surprise me?

Fortunately the answer is yes, or I would not bought this one :-)

Face in the dirt, saints of LA, chicks = trouble, just anohter psycho, goin' out swinging ... great anthems

It is not easy to reinvent Mötley Crüe, but i consider it as good as Shout at the devil

And the fuckin' question, how these 4 men still alive?

To mention as well my version has an extra DVD with one video and 2 live videos, plus other extras ... It is so simple to sell when you meet client's desires, isnt it?

10/10 Indispensable

When you were mine

Promo copy, autographed apparently by John Waite...
2.99$ belive it or not ... and record is near mint.

I love suicide life, and title song, which the ones i listen most.

I know
Out on the Internet tonight
Deals made
Between the strangers
In green lights
No names
No touch no feel humanity
You and your suicide life

But i have to pay some others listenings since this one is a good record.

Keep the faith

Mother mother tell your children
That their time has just begun
I have suffered for my anger
There are wars that cant be won

Father father please believe me
I am laying down my guns
I am broken like an arrow
Forgive me
Forgive your wayward son

My 2nd concert was the Bon Jovi Keep the faith tour. I couldn't convince my girlfriend to come (she had an exam) and she recognised later she did wrong... but I went, of course :-) ... around 30th march '93.

I loved Bon Jovi by that time and I still think Jon is a great composer and delivered great. Even they played dry contry, a fantastic epic which with the title are the best songs from the record. Nicest ballads in these arms and bed of roses are great as well... And I love if i was your mother. Jon is a great singer and the band rocks and ballads, and i guess most of the most of metal-heads will hate me because this support, but I do not care. I love good songs and Bon Jovi wrote and perfomed a bunch of the highest quality.

Phenomenon

Phenomenon is the first UFO record which makes history. It has 2 of the best songs ufo ever did: Doctor doctor and Rock bottom.

Seventeen and natures queen, you all know what I mean
Twenty-one a lone one, you can see the number's run
Now you look so peaceful, lying there asleep
With the wings of god above you
Before the spirits meet

http://www.goear.com/listen.php?v=4719e98

The rest is very forgettable, but we have to keep in mind that Michael Schenker joined UFO, a british band not knowing a word in english... However colaboration between Phil and Michael would produce such material to deserve one of the best places in rock history.

MSG Unplugged Live

Michael Schenker. Robin McAuley. 92. Unplugged.
Of course, everybody knows Michael, the splendid axeman from UFO, MSG, MSG II, Scorpions and MS lately.
This record is the first unplugged he did, and with Robin's voice, thay accomplised a fantastic achievement.
Natural thing, and the indispensables Lights out & Doctor doctor, impossibles to fail from any Michael's or UFO concert. Classics forever.
Anytime, we belive in love, nightmare, when i'm gone, what happens to me from the Perfect timing, Save yourself & MSG records. Not as classics as UFO ones, but still great songs.
Just a acoustic softer, mellow record to enjoy, perfectly executed. The concert was video shooted too. Great!
Gift from my girlfriend, kisses to u :-)

Warrior soul

Nice package, nice offer, so I got it. I would not have bought it otherwise.
You're my family and heaven I see are the best songs in the record, but honestly, I would have been deceived if I had bought it normal edition at the highest price.
My edition with bonus cd, a sticker and additional booklet is a nice addition though i find the music a bit weak... :-(
I can only recommend it to real doro fans.

nice Doro pictured!

Billion dollar babies

I do not have the expanded 2cd version this time! shame :-(
It is a great record, but mainly because there are the following hits, which justify the purchase:
Hello hurray, elected, billion dollar babies and no more mr nice guy.

Billion dollar baby Rubber little lady, slicker than a weasel Grimy as an alley, loves me like no other lover Billion dollar baby Rubber little monster, baby I adore you Man or woman living couldn't love you like me baby

These titles are awesome enough. The rest it more or less forgettable (maybe with the exception of i love the dead, yes).

I remember buying the record, more than 15 years ago. I did not know it was such good, although i already had a best of in k7.

Hysteria

This one is believed by many as a classic. Even people who do not like hard rock/metal consider this one the best of their discography. It is true, this one made Def Leppard take off, but does not mean it is the best... however it is good enough.
Women, rocket, animal, love bites, hysteria, gods of war ...

I always prefered pyromania to this one, and my favourite is high n'dry.

Thanks to JL who brought it to me directly from Japan, yes, another japanese record.

If you are not sure if you can go to hard rock, this one is a good start.

The ultimate Sin

Out on the streets I'm stalking the night
I can hear my heavy breathing
Paid for the kill, but it doesn't seem right
Something there I can't believe in
Voices are calling from inside my head
I can hear them, I can hear them
Vanishing memories of things that were said
They can't try to hurt me now
But a shot in the dark One step away from you
Just a shot in the dark Always creeping up on you

and

If none of us believe in war Then can you tell me what the weapon's for? Listen to me everyone If the button is pushed there'll be nowhere to run

This record is not only 2 songs, but these two are most obsessive to me ... specially the first, which I consider Ozzy's best performance ... enough for getting a record from Ozzy.
I actually consider Dio's best vocals and songwriting, but these 2 songs are just incredible for me ... I just wanted to own them :-)
